Biography

Hello! As a person living with Type 1 Diabetes, connected to 3 generations of family living with Type 2, I have personal experience with the stresses that living with each involves. As a psychotherapist, I understand that each person’s journey with diabetes is as unique.

Diabetes takes constant effort. Working with a therapist can support you through the challenges you face. I consider you to be the expert of your life. I am interested in you as a full person, not a set of numbers. I meet you where you are, listen deeply and care-full-y to your concerns, & reflect on them with you. I aim to create an open, friendly, and spacious time together, sharing supportive approaches that can decrease stress and increase relaxation. In therapy you get to choose what to attend to! Your challenges with diabetes may cause you to lose sight of your strengths. Working together, we will find and engage them.

I draw from a variety of therapies including CBT, Mindfulness, Self-compassion, Narrative, and Expressive Arts Therapy. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO with an MA in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. I have 5 years of experience in my second career as psychotherapist. I consult with a supervising psychotherapist with many years experience.

I offer virtual appointments to Canadian adults and youth in all provinces. A trusting relation is key to effective therapy, so visit my website to learn more about me.
